At Little Pincushion Studio, we run ongoing sewing classes in 6 week blocks rather than specific project based classes. Each block or sewing session offers a variety of projects and skills including machine sewing, hand sewing and embroidery and provides a creative and intimate group setting that encourages new friendships and creative thinking.

We keep class numbers very small so that each student is given sufficient assistance and extra instruction when needed. We like to call these small groups sewing circles….friendships are made, skills are learned and this small window each week can provide a welcome creative outlet after the stresses of schoolwork and sport commitments.

Little Pincushion Studio Updates

Thanks for registering for Little Pincushion Studio weekly sewing sessions. Please take a few minutes to read through our recently revised studio policies and information.  We have updated these for the upcoming Fall/Winter sessions. 


Payment and tuition information

Each session last for will 6 weeks at a cost of $150

Payment is required on or before the first class. If tuition has not been paid by the end of the second class of the session, and you haven't discussed or made arrangements with me prior to the start of the session, I will be unable to have your child join us in class.

All payments can be made online via my website, or by cash or check on the first day of class.

I will offer a $10 discount for Cash payments

Classes run for 1 hr and 15 minutes with the final 10 minutes dedicated to work area clean up.

Please do not drop off any earlier than 5 minutes prior to class. If you are running late to pick up your child, please send me a text message. Please do your best to pick up your children on time. Pick-ups that are late in excess of a half hour, will be charged $10.

Refunds/transfer policy

Cancellations and transfers may NOT be done through the website.  You will need to contact me directly.

 There are no refunds for missed days due to changed work or vacation schedules, sick days or other non-emergency reasons.

Refunds and transfers must be requested at least 14 days prior to the session from which you are withdrawing. Transfers may only be made from one session to another session; not from a session to one of the Little Pincushion camp or workshop..

All but $25 will be returned for approved refunds for each session refunded.

Refunds are not allowed for those who register within 14 days prior to a session’s start.

Make up class policy

I offer one make up class per session to be scheduled at a time that is convenient to the studio. Make up classes must take place during that session and are not transferable to another session.

Make sure to look at the calendar online and make sure that you are able to attend the classes for your session. I will not be sending out reminders regarding the schedule, the calendar will always be kept up to date.

I understand that things come up last minute however I would appreciate a text message to let me know if your child will not be able to make it to class.

Please let me know how many sessions you are thinking that your child may attend. If you are planning on leaving sewing class I would appreciate a 3 week warning so that I can offer up the space to a child on the waiting list.

Little Pincushion follows Fauquier County Public Schools (FCPS) Inclement Weather Closing Policies. If Public schools in Fauquier County close for inclement weather, Little Pincushion will cancel any scheduled classes. Make-up classes due to inclement weather will be schedule for a later date.”


Parking for the Studio is in the 5th Street Old Town Warrenton Public lot. Please use this lot to park your vehicles and walk down to the Studio.

The 15-minute loading and unloading zone in front of the studio is not for parking.  This is to be used for pick-up and drop-off.

The parking lot that is directly across from the Studio is not part of the Studio, and it is not a public parking lot.  That lot is privately owned and cannot be used for dropping off students, waiting, or long term parking.  The businesses that own that parking lot, can and will tow the cars. 

Staff to Student Ratios

In an effort to make all the classes I offer more individualized and offer more one-on-one attention to the students, I am gearing the class sizes to be smaller,  as it truly allows me to do much more with my students.  My experience with bigger classes has been that students tend to socialize more, rush their projects toward completion and miss out on the beauty (of what they are learning) of the process and the attention to detail.

I am planning a larger focus on hand work and longer lasting projects rather than make in a day projects. We will still do those projects sometimes but I would like our focus to be more centered around making beautiful items to be treasured for always.
